Peruvian officials say Joran van der Sloot has confessed to the slaying of Stephany Flores Ramirez. What will this development mean for the Natalee Holloway case? Watch “Nancy Grace,” at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday on HLN.

Lima, Peru (CNN) — Joran van der Sloot, the longtime suspect in the disappearance of an Alabama teenager in Aruba, is slated to take Peruvian authorities on a re-enactment Tuesday at the hotel room where the body of a young woman he has confessed to killing was found last week, officials said.

Van der Sloot offered a tearful confession Monday night to killing 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez, Peruvian authorities said.

The suspect told authorities Flores had found some information on his laptop computer that tied him to the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway five years ago.

“I did not want to do it,” van der Sloot is said to have told authorities. “The girl intruded into my private life.”

He could be formally charged as early as Tuesday, Peruvian authorities said.

Van der Sloot and Flores had returned to his hotel room after meeting at a casino. Officials say van der Sloot went out to get some coffee and found her reading his computer when he returned.

He became enraged, investigators said, and beat her to death. Her neck was broken.

The Dutch citizen broke down in tears when he offered his confession in front of investigators and his attorney, Peruvian officials said.

Van der Sloot’s attorney in Peru could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

Van der Sloot, 22, was arrested twice in connection with Holloway’s disappearance in Aruba but was released for lack of evidence. He has denied any involvement and has not been charged.

He is slated to take authorities on a re-enactment of the crime at the Hotel Tac, where he was staying. Flores’ body was found in the room registered to van der Sloot. Video from hotel security cameras show van der Sloot and Flores entering his room at 5:33 a.m. on May 30. Her emerged alone and left the hotel more than three hours later, the video shows.

He was arrested in Chile on Thursday and returned to Peru on Friday.

At van der Sloot’s first court appearance, the judge may set a hearing date and order additional investigations.

The Peruvian justice system often issues a lighter sentence in cases where the suspect confesses.

Van der Sloot could get up to 35 years in prison. There is no death penalty or life sentence in Peru.

A Peruvian police report leaked Monday said Flores was found in van der Sloot’s hotel room floor, half-dressed. The report also provides new details about the hours before Flores’ body was found.

According to the document, the Hotel Tac received a call from someone looking for van der Sloot about 11 p.m. June 1. The receptionist forwarded the call, but no one answered. The hotel worker assumed that van der Sloot was asleep because the room key was with him and not the front desk.

About an hour later, according to the police report, the receptionist noticed that van der Sloot owed money for two nights and went up to his room, where her knocks went unanswered. The television was blaring, so the hotel employee figured he was resting, the report says.

Afterward, the hotel supervisor told the employee to go back to van der Sloot’s room and enter using a spare key. When the employee went in, she found Flores’ body on the floor, dressed in a black T-shirt and red panties, half-covered with a piece of white clothing, the police report said.

Flores had bled from her nose, the report said.

The hotel employee became frightened and went to alert her supervisor and the police, turning off the television and lights on her way out of the room, the report said.

The developments in the van der Sloot case come as the Natalee Holloway Resource Center opens Tuesday in Washington. The nonprofit center is located at the National Museum of Crime and Punishment. Natalee’s mother, Beth Holloway, is scheduled to attend the opening.

The center says it will provide families of missing persons help with managing their crisis and to give students advice on traveling safely.

CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo. – MaryAnn and Jim McMahon thought their money troubles were over when they hit an $11 million jackpot at a Cripple Creek casino Tuesday. It turns out they were wrong.

The Wildwood Casino blamed a slot machine malfunction for the $11 million jackpot.

The machine was turned over to the Colorado Gaming Division for inspection.

A spokesperson says their initial investigation shows the McMahon’s didn’t really win the $11 million prize on June 1.

Gaming spokesperson Don Burmania said the machine failed to “reset” after the McMahon’s won the $1627.82 prize.

“They actually won $1627.82,” said Burmania, “The $11 million was what we call a ‘reset value.’ It’s what the jackpot would have been after the prize was claimed.”

It’s the second time in three months a Colorado slot machine has made a multi-million dollar mistake. In March, a machine malfunction was blamed for a $42 million dollar jackpot.

“These things rarely occur, but when it rains it pours,” Burmania said.

Still, the McMahon’s feel they deserve the jackpot, and are feeling some mistrust with the gaming industry.

“If you do hit a jackpot are they going to come up with another story? It’s a malfunction? It’s not right,” Jim McMahon said.

Joran van der Sloot has been captured after fleeing the Lima, Peru hotel where he is suspected of killing a 21-year-old woman.

Joran van der Sloot has been arrested and is in police custody in Santiago, Chile, an Interpol spokesperson in Santiago told CNN.

Van der Sloot, who was previously considered a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba, is the main suspect in this week’s slaying of 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez, officials said. She was was found Wednesday in a Lima, Peru, hotel room registered to van der Sloot.

Peruvian Interior Minister Octavio Salazar Miranda said Thursday that Peru has made arrangements with Interpol to extradite van der Sloot.

There is “incriminating evidence” linking van der Sloot to the killing of Ramirez, who was found with multiple stab wounds in a Lima hotel room Wednesday, Cesar Guardia Vasquez, of Chile Interpol’s criminal investigations unit, said at a news conference.

The hotel room where Flores was found was registered in van der Sloot’s name, he said.

A hotel guest and an employee witnessed the pair entering the hotel room together at 5 a.m. on Sunday, Guardia said.

Police have video of the previous night, May 29, of van der Sloot and Flores together at the Atlantic City Casino in Lima, he said.

According to immigration officials, van der Sloot fled to Chile over land on Monday, Guardia said.

“We have all the evidence to show that the killer is this man,” the victim’s father, businessman and race-car driver Ricardo Flores told CNN en Español.

It’s great news that he has been caught, but let’s hope police in Peru and Chile don’t let this slick fu*ker slip through the system like the Aruban officials did. This woman’s life may have been saved if he’d been held responsible for Natalee Holloway’s disappearance.

May 17, 2010. We know that the millions of Jay Z fans AREN’T gonna like hearing this, but word on the streets is that dude has been making a SERIES of terrible business decisions – and has lost MILLIONS because of it.

According to MediaTakeOut.com’s pals over at the NY Post, Jay Z is losing MILLIONS of dollars from bad investments. And they listed his recent business FAILURES:

40/40 Club:
- Clubs in NYC, Atlantic City. The Las Vegas club, at 24,000 square feet, opened in the hotel-casino Palazzo in January 2008, with more than 80 plasma TVs. It closed eight months later when, after disappointing traffic, Jay-Z sold the lease back to the hotel. It was tuned into a race and sports book, with a specialty restaurant.

NJ Nets:
-Paid $4.5M in December 2004 for a minority stake in the team. Sale price of $300M means he owns 1.5%. Forbes valued the team at $269M this season, down 9% from the previous season. Operating deficit of 13.9M. In 2004, Team owner Bruce Ratner said he wanted to have team in Brooklyn for the 2006-07 season but 2012 looks more promising.

Gain Global Investments Networks:
-Company owns a 7 percent stake in the group that was chosen and then lost a deal to develop a Racino at Aqueduct Racetrack. Jay-Z owns a 28.6 percent stake in AEG.

NYC Real estate:

345 West 14th St.: part of a group that borrowed $30M to buy Meatpacking District building for development. Plans went south during recession. Sold loan for $19.5M.

510 West 22nd St.: In August 2007, a company he controlled borrowed $52M to purchase the land in order to develop a luxury J Hotel. Walked away from the project and loan during the recession. Sued lender, Highland Capital, for “bleeding” him of interest payments.

The paper does say that Jay has made some good business deals, like his LiveNation Deal and his sale of Rocawear. While it’s publicly been stated that the two deals brought in $250 million a MediaTakeOut.com insider said that both deals COMBINED brought Jay Z approximately $40 million (still a very respectable number in this economy).

The Old

Oh Las Vegas I feel your pain! But then again, I don’t feel the pain of your hotheaded governor who recently threatened President Obama after he spoke to a group of high school seniors and urged them to save money for college rather than gambling it in Las Vegas.

So yes, Las Vegas continues to lose gambling revenue. Ever since the unofficial recession started, Las Vegas has experienced a gradual decline in the money it takes from people. Look, I completely understand that in order for Las Vegas to continue being the “playground” it has become for adults over the years, it needs a whole lot of money coming in. But you know what? Las Vegas isn’t going anywhere – and the loss of revenue really isn’t that big of a loss.

January 2010 saw a 3.2% decrease in overall revenue compared to January 2008. Granted, 2008 was a loss from 2007, and all but one month in the last two years has seen an increase in revenue. But still, that revenue came in at $888.3 million for the month of January 2010. Needless to say, business is still good.

The New

Casino operators and the Nevada Gaming Control Board would certainly love to see Las Vegas faring better, yet, they know things aren’t going to overnight. Referring to January 2010 as a soft month, the Gaming Control Board says they are expecting an even larger decline in the coming months this year. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, however. And that, my friends, is the World Series of Poker, which makes its way into Vegas during the Summer months.

That said, I have something to say to Las Vegas. Dear Las Vegas, maybe if you hadn’t fought against regulating online casino gambling all those years, you wouldn’t be in the fix you’re now in. And let me remind you that WSOP is primarily fueled by the online poker industry. You can thank the PPA later for saving your ass this year. And don’t go blaming the economy either – cough, cough Project City Center, cough, crazy condo developers – for the Pennsylvania gambling industry has seen increases in revenue. Sure, Atlantic City is going bankrupt, but that’s what happens when you let Donald Trump open a casino. Oh wait, Trump recently set up shop in Vegas, did he not?

The controversial plan to open 4,500 casino slots at Aqueduct Race track in which Jay-Z was to be a partner in is falling apart.Yesterday (March 10), New York’s Gov. Paterson wrote a letter threatening to kill the deal with AEG to open 4,500 casino slots at Aqueduct race track in Queens.

In the letter, Paterson’s office has stated that he will “disqualify” winning bidder AEG. In response to the letter, powerhouse Queens Minister Floyd Flake responded by resigning as a partner in the project.

Since the letter, Minister Flake has also withdrew from his partnership with AEG. He stated,

“Unfortunately, my ongoing participation in Aqueduct Entertainment has become a distraction that has taken me and my attention away from the community projects I created and nurtured. I support Aqueduct Entertainment’s vision for the revitalization of my community through the creation of jobs, retail facilities and other opportunities for growth.”

In addition to losing Flake, Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z, who had an estimated 2% interest in AEG through his ownership in Gain Global Investments Network, has backed out of a deal with the Aqueduct Entertainment Group to invest in the Aqueduct racino it was revealed on March 9th.

The racino project has generated a great deal of controversy because the losing bidders claim New York Gov. David Paterson awarded AEG the contract due to his personal relationship with the investors.

As previously reported, state and federal authorities are investigating accusations that the selection of AEG was corrupt. Red flags were raised when Paterson met with Flake just days after announcing the award to AEG seeking a political endorsement for a re-election run.

Last week, subpoenas were issued to Jay-Z and Russell Simmons in regards to the deal.

Simmons, who served as an advisor to Penn National Gaming, was one of the five losing bidders for the contract.

Critics have claimed that AEG’s bid was $100 million less than the other bids, which were as high as $300 million, with other incentives layered into the deal. Many speculate that it was the aforementioned partnerships that gave AEG the edge they needed to win.

I don’t know about you, but the issues surrounding this case seem to be a little under the table. I don’t feel that this is quite the end of the AEG scandal. We know Jay-Z said he will not lose, but with this deal…it seems he has.
